A Profound Thought

Profound Thought for 9/22/08

*I'm not a religious extremist or anything. I'm saying this from a non-churchgoer point of view* Don't count your blessings. You're just selling yourself short. For those who count their blessings, they lose the true essence of what its all about. There is no point in keeping track by saying "There's a blessing, there's a blessing, there's one...." etc. In doing that you are not opening yourself to being graced by the blessing. When you simply acknowledge it, and revel in it, you find yourself happy and blissful, knowing that someone or something somewhere is looking out for you. In short, counting a blessing takes the luster off of it, if you catch my drift. Just enjoy what comes to you. Don't go off singling out each blessing; rather, accept them all and be happy knowing that you're a blessed individual. Luck comes and goes, and good fortune can only last so long; a blessing can change your life.
